About Your Physician
Dr. Vaughn completed his residency and fellowship training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is board certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and, in addition, is one of the few surgeons in South Carolina to have passed his certifying examinations in hand surgery. Dr. Vaughn has extensive training in all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, including state of the art microsurgical and endoscopic surgical procedures. He routinely handles the full spectrum of facial and body aesthetic procedures, including facial surgeries, body contouring, liposculpture and breast surgery. Dr. Vaughn is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the exclusive American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and is the Past President of the South Carolina Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Consultation for Plastic Surgery:
After reviewing a video concerning the specific cosmetic procedure in which you are interested, you will have an in-depth discussion with Dr. Vaughn in which he will examine you and discuss the procedure with you. He will tell you how it is performed, what results you can expect, how long recovery will take as well as complete information on the risks and possible complications that may be involved. In addition he will answer all of your specific questions.

Your Surgery
Surgeries are done in our office and at area hospitals depending on the type of surgery and the patient's general health.

Hospital and Outpatient Surgeries:
Surgeries performed at the area hospitals may be either in-patient or outpatient (same day) surgery. You may be required to have several tests performed prior to your surgery. These tests will be done at the hospital or surgery center within the week of your surgery date. Our staff will give you all the information specific for the facility selected and work with you to schedule the best time for your surgery at the time of your appointment.

Office Surgeries
If you are in good health, you may be a candidate for surgery in our office. Our office surgery suite offers the advantage of privacy, less expense, a staff devoted exclusively to plastic surgery and the overall relaxed and personal experience for you. Piedmont Plastic Surgery is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Facilities, Inc. ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality care to patients. Specific information concerning office surgeries will be given to you at the time of your appointment.

Emergencies
Emergencies will always receive priority regardless of the day or time. After regular hours, Dr. Vaughn can be reached through the operator at Self Regional Healthcare by dialing 227-4111. The operator is informed of his location and will contact him for you. When Dr. Vaughn is out of town, a qualified physician will be taking his calls.
